I stayed up way too late last night waiting for the Snitch to be released in my HSKS4 Quidditch match. Come to find out, the snitch won’t be released until Saturday, but hey, at least I got my quiz done. Max kept me company (this is actually an old picture, but the position was the same)!

This is a picture of my first swap package all bundled up and ready to go to my spoilee. I forgot to take a package of all the goodies from the first swap package I put together so I had to wait until the recipient received the package and posted pictures on her website for you to see…..and here they are.
Angie from Washington was my partner and I’m so happy that she was thrilled with her package. She and I share a birthday, so it’s the least I could do.
My second package is on it’s way out today…
This package is for my partner in the Be My Valentine 2008 swap. I remembered to take pictures of the contents, but I didn’t want to post them in case she has figured out who I am and is checking my blog. This was a secret swap so we have no idea who is spoiling us until February 14th.
So, two down, two to go. I am almost ready to send my Hot Cocoa Swap partner’s package out and the HSKS4 package isn’t due out til April so I’ve still got plenty of time to get that finished. The yarn hasn’t even arrived for the bag I have to make.
I can’t wait until I start receiving my packages! I’ll be sure to post pictures : )
When Scott returned from Iraq in 2007 we needed some R&R so did our research and ended up at the Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun. This was by far the best vacation I’ve ever had. The pool was amazing the food and drink was to die for and the people we met were unforgettable.
This was an all-inclusive resort so there was a theme night the first night. We ended up sitting with a couple named Jane and Jerry from Tahoe. What great people. We spent the entire week dining, sunning and funning with Jane and Jerry and had the best vacation ever. We rented a little boat and Jane and Jerry took us sailing along the coast. That was a lot of fun, but I was happy to get back on land. It was too windy most days for scuba diving.
We took a day trip to Tulum to see the “old rocks” as Jerry called them and also went shopping at the Playa del Carmen.
Our resort was amazing so we really enjoyed just spending lazy days by the pool socializing, reading, drinking and having a good time. The pool was amazing with the barstools right in the water, floats, a volley ball net and plenty of sun. This is the trip where I discovered the mojito!

Well I finally did it and live to tell about it. I got my haircut this past weekend. I had a Belarusian friend go with me to translate my wants and wishes and everything went smoothly. My stylist was Luba (love) and she was awesome. I will definitely not hesitate let her cut my hair again. Of course I’ll probably still need Lena to go with me.
This is the best part of the cut, the PRICE! 43,500 rubles or $20 USD…for a wash, cut, and style. I couldn’t believe it. I am so going to get a wash and style at least every two weeks. I’d be crazy not to. My hair is so thick, by the time I blow dry and then flat iron it’s an hour out of my day! Why not pay someone to do it for me?
What’s a day out in the city without a funny story? Ok, here it is, you knew it was coming. While I was at Persona (the hair place) a young man came in to have his hair done. The male stylist who happened to be sporting a very fine mullet helped the young man. Now I don’t understand all of what was being said because it was in Russian but this is my very loose interpretation of the conversation:
Stylist: Hi, How are you today?
Man: Thank you, fine.
Stylist: What would you like?
Man: I’d like a mullet?
Stylist: A mullet?
Man: Yes, just like yours!
No shit, the guy pointed to the stylist’s head and 30 minutes later was out the door sporting his fine new mullet! GOOD GRIEF!
Here’s a picture of my do. Keep in mind, I am not a professional photographer…

1. I thought Adam Sandler was HOT in his cartoon movie – 8 Crazy Nights (thanks for bringing that out of me NG).
2. I once went 3 days without speaking.
3. I only like Chicken Marsala if it is served with wild rice or oven roasted potatoes and green beans and prepared by Forrest Thomasson. I can tell the difference!
4. I did not cry until my husband came back from Iraq. ( I think that’s a true statement, although now that I’ve typed it, I’m thinking that’s a long time to go without a cry).
5. I once won 3rd place in a bikini contest with only the top of the bikini.
6. I pick my fingers.
7. There are several bars in Maryland that refuse to serve me any drink containing Tequila.
