Spinning News
Wow! I can’t believe it’s been over a week since I’ve posted, but I’m making up for it today. I honestly have no real excuse for not posting. I haven’t been doing anything so spectacular that I couldn’t have blogged. I’ll just chalk it up to laziness and go from there.
Last night I took a few pictures of the yarn I’ve been spinning. I started off just doing singles and this week I’ve branched out to plying. I’ve only done two-ply yarns so far and they are WAY chunky, but I’ll get the hang of it eventually. Spinning is really a LOT of fun.
I rented the Ashford Joy and we have a love hate relationship….she hates me and I love her.

I just can’t seem to figure out all the things I need to figure out. A class would probably be a good idea but I have my sister here to degbug my boo boo’s and we have the spinning group that we can go to and I can ask questions there. That will have to do for now.
Here are the pics:

This is some Seawool Ocean Fiber from Creatively Dyed Yarns on the left and some Merino from Copperpot Woolies (etsy). I have plyed them together, but don’t like the results….I think the purple is too dark with the Creatively Dyed and it takes away from the beauty of each yarn. I’ll ply them onto themselves next to see if I like that better.

This is Merino in the Denim colorway by Copperpot Woolies. It is very Bulky/Chunky and I know this is wrong, but I’m calling it “Big Girl Jeans”.
So there you have it…my first plyed yarns.

I think your yarns are beautiful.
Thanks Angie! Once I get a tiny bit better, I’ll share.

That looks really nice. Have you tried to knit it already?
