What do politics and knitting have in common?

Posted in Journal, Purls of Wisdom tagged , , , at 8:25 pm by Jenn

There has been a lot of talk about Barack Obama on the blogs over these past few weeks.  This is perhaps one of the funniest things I’ve seen.  Not funny intentionally, but funny in the sense that it just happened so naturally.

Ruth – I missed the deadline to change my party affiliation, but the absentee ballot application is in the mail!

I just had a short lesson from my boyf on party affiliation and what it means.

So bear with me cause I am learning all about this but your absentee ballot application – is that to vote in the (erm, we’d call it general election in the UK but I am not sure what they call it in the states) Presidential (?) election or to vote for which republican candidate is put forward to be president?

NG- We have two elections in the US. The Primary election is the first one, this is where the candidates are narrowed down and we decide who is actually going to be the presidential candidate.
The General election is where we elect the President.

When I sent my absentee ballot application I requested ballots for both elections. All states have different procedures – my husband has to fill out one application for each election.

Comment # 1 — I just read the Stringativity post – OMG! THAT IS FAN-TAS-TIC!!!!!!! Thank you sooo much for finding that. I can’t wait to share it with my family.

Comment #2 — Such a happy Christmas present, thank you! 🙂 Hee hee. Now if only I could hear my big brother say the same thing, I’d think I’d died & gone to heaven.

I am working at the polls again this election. The primary is in February and I will be at Madison again. Our polling place had been changed though. Maybe we won’t have lines that last for 3 hours this year!!!! We are voting at the Nazarene church on Woodyard. I will be voting absentee! Mom

Jenn, you can’t even take shampoo in your carry-on bag but you can bring 12″ knitting needles into a Presidential Candidate’s rally? REALLY?! Lol.
