Pins and Needles

Posted in Journal, Purls of Wisdom tagged , , , , , , at 12:22 am by Jenn

This weekend I’m on pins and needles, anxiously awaiting my partner assignments for the 3 swaps that are getting underway.  I’ve joined the Be My Valentine 2008 swap on Ravelry, The Hogwarts Sock Kit Swap 4 and the Hot Cocoa Swap

Packages don’t have to be mailed out for a while yet, but since I’m overseas it takes about 2-3 weeks for items to get to me, so the sooner I get my partners the better.  Besides I want to get in on some of these year end sales before it’s too late…

Voting for the next project of the Sexy Knitter’s Club is also in full swing.  I’m not really interested in the patterns that are winning at this point, so I may end up sitting my first round out!  That’s ok, it will give me more time to learn some new stitches and work on my first sweater!  Need to find a pattern for that.  Besides, I’ll be busy with these swaps and the Sock a Month 5 Knit Along.  I’m about 75% finished with my second sock!  I’m hoping to be able to finish it by Tuesday and have a picture posted to the blog (and have it count for my “January Sock” – I’m still undecided about my next sock pattern, maybe a toe up one this time).

I didn’t realize that there were so many fun groups and things involved with knitting.  Thanks Mom and Heather for getting me back in to this!  Maybe next year we’ll have to plan a visit to a European Knitting Convention (note to self – look up european knitting conventions).

I finally figured out how to get my Flickr pictures to Ravelry – operator error so now my projects and stash can be viewed!  It was a very productive Ravelry weekend!

At some point I need to focus on this report for the American Dietetic Association (ADA)!  In fact, no time like tomorrow!  I’m going to devote at least two hours a day this week to the project in hopes of making progress.  I have what I believe to be a great contact who should be able to provide a wealth of information.  I’ll need to do a separate post on the project because I don’t believe I’ve mentioned it before, but in summary I’m going to do a country profile on the nutrition profession and nutritional concerns in Belarus.

When am I going to have time to work?

One partner still to be assigned! I’ve spent a lot of money today and I feel good! : )
