Remembering the Outer Banks

Posted in Journal at 7:16 pm by Jenn

My family and I spent the week before 4th of July vacationing in Avon on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Here are a few photo collages from the week.

lighthouse collage

We saw three of the Hatteras National Seashore lighthouses on this trip – Ocracoke (the white one), Hatteras (with the diagonal stripes) and Bodie with the horizontal stripes.  Each one is fascinating.  Hatteras was the only one of these that we could climb up to the top of.  Hopefully in the near future with restoration, the others will be open as well.

This collage represents the rest of the vacation – awesome!

Avon

A little kayaking, a little geocaching, some beach walking and a lot of sunsets!

The house, which I forgot to take a picture of was called Windsurfer’s High, on Amberjack Court in Avon.  If the fam vacations there next year, my vote is for 5 O’Clock Somewhere.
