Photo Tag

Posted in Journal tagged , , , at 12:04 pm by Jenn

I was tagged by Nadine at A Trillion Kisses for this fun photo tag.  Here are the rules:

1. Go to the section of your computer where you store all of your photos.
2. Select the 6th folder.
3. Select the 6th photo from that folder.
4. Post and explain about that picture.
5. Tag 6 other people

So, here’s my picture

This is a picture of me during my Dietetic Internship on March 24, 2004.  This picture is actually very fitting as March is National Nutrition Month!  I can’t remember the name of the school I was in, but this was a fun day at one of the schools in Anne Arundel County.

It’s hard to believe that my Internship was almost 5 years ago.  Just yesterday I was thinking about one of my internship experiences and thinking I would blog about it.  If you’ll notice there was no post yesterday so that means I quickly changed my mind and moved on to other things…namely my paper that is due today at noon EST.  I finished it last night and sent it off.  Now I have a post due to the discussion board and our first test is posted and is due next week!  What a busy school time.  Thankfully it hasn’t been too bad.

I tag Dee, Monica, Heather, Jess, Stitchitch in Baku and Jen D (post to Facebook).  Have fun.

Holiday Meme

Posted in Journal tagged , , at 6:46 pm by Jenn

While blog surfing the other day I came across this holiday meme.  The meme was on a blog called Between Loads of Laundry.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the blog design and am considering contacting the designerfor some bling for my blog.  I love bling!  Anyway, back to the meme, if you’re reading this, consider yourself tagged!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?  I use a combination of both.  Usually coordinated wrapping paper, but the past few years we’ve just been using up the stuff that we brought with us.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial while overseas

3. When do you put up the tree?  Thanksgiving weekend

4. When do you take the tree down? After January 7th

5. Do you like eggnog?  LOVE IT!  Homemade or Larry Collins style only.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Stereo, in spite of the fact that I’m scarred for life because I first opened a fire log…just knowing it was my stereo…everyone had a real big laugh over that one.

7. Hardest person to buy for?  My dad.  Although this year my sister had a BRILLIANT idea and was gracious enough to let me tag along.  Somehow a Larry the Cable guy DVD just wasn’t enough…LOL

8. Easiest person to buy for?  My mom.  She’s a mom, easy to please.  Of course my husband is easy to buy for too.  He starts giving hints oh, around December 26th.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes a cheap little dollar store one.  I didnt’ put it up this year though.  Our apartment just isn’t set up right and we don’t have enough furniture for everything to be displayed on.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail of course!

11.Worst Christmas gift you ever received?  I don’t know that I’ve every really received a worst Christmas present although my husband did give me an ornament last year that still makes me question what the hell he was thinking…

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Sound of Music, A Christmas Story, Miracle on 34th Street and It’s a Wonderful Life…all of them…

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? usually? I do a little all year long.  I’ve already purchased a few for next year too.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Honestly, no.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Chex Mix and Buckeyes

16. Favorite Christmas songs? Away in a Manger, Silent Night

17. Travel at Christmas or stay home? It depends.  The past two years we’ve stayed home because we’ve been overseas and travel is too expensive.  When in the States we have been alternating between families.

18. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? One present Christmas Eve and the rest Christmas Day.

19. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?  People who do their best to bring you down.

20. Favorite ornament theme or color?  I love childhood ornaments and also blue and white….I love having two trees, one artificial with the blue and white ornaments and all white lights and fancy blue/white/silver packages underneath…and one real with multicolored lights, the childhood ornaments and real presents.  This is the Santa Claus tree.

21. What do you want for Christmas this year? Wii Fit and stuff to start spinning.

22. If you don’t celebrate Christmas, what holiday do you celebrate.  Please share your traditions.  Comment on this blog for all to see.

In true blog world fashion I have been tagged by Carola over at My Living Room. Here’s the deal (rules):

1. Link back to the person who tagged you
2. Mention the rules on your blog
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking to them
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged bloggers blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged

Here are my 6 unspectacular quirks…(again really I typed them the first time)

1.  All of the hangers in my closet have to be white and facing the same direction!

2.  I CANNOT have less than 3 cans of kidney beans in my pantry at any time.

3.  I ALWAYS wear socks to bed no matter how hot it may be – I don’t always wake up with socks on.

4.  I will only paint my toenails 3 colors, red, clear or french.

5.  This one started in my waitressing/bartending days – When shopping for tennis shoes I will try on every pair of shoes in the store.  I put a different one on each foot and then move the one that feels better to the right foot and continue until I have exhausted all options.  Then I put on both shoes and walk around.  This is the pair I purchase regardless of brand, price, color or remarks from salespeople.  My feet usually choose ASICS or New Balance.

6.  The only socks I will wear to complete the above mentioned task are white, ankle length by Gold Toe.

I tag anyone who wants to play AND the following people:

1) Laura at My 3 Ring Circus of a Life
2) Heather at Knits and Things
3) Jen at home in Cleaveland – get a blog woman!
4) Christine at Heidelblog

Food Porn (not really)

Posted in Journal tagged , at 9:07 pm by Jenn

I was tagged bytransplantingme for the  so here are my responses.

1. What food do you consider the best “date” food? In other words, what meal or food item do you think is sexiest to eat in the company of someone you would like to look sexy around?   I have had some of my best dates over a steak, or sushi.  I don’t know if those count as sexy foods but they are meals that last a while and you are able to have good conversation.  One food I would definitely not recommend eating on a sexy date night….asparagus!  Thanks to Glenn Bass for the tip that saved Valentine’s Day – 1999!

2. What well-known person would you like to share a meal with?  I have a few that I would like to share a meal with: 1) Barack Obama  2) Howard Stern  3) Reba McIntyre  4) Alan Rickman

3. What does your perfect breakfast-in-bed look like? (Food AND the details, please. Candles? Music? Flowers? Hot tub? Dancing girls?  I would love to have breakfast in bed….this would be a FIRST for me…pathetic I know!  The ideal breakfast tray would consist of a bouquet of daisies, french toast with white cheddar cheese and maple syrup, turkey bacon, fresh squeezed orange juice blended with ice to make a froth, and a BIG bowl of tropical fruit topped with shredded coconut.  The music…wooden flutes or the sound machine set to ocean!

4. What do you consider the best application of whipped cream to be?  On my hot fudge sundae or hot chocolate/white chocolate mocha of course.

5. Oh-God-No, Biff, the yacht is sinking! You are sent to the galley to retrieve the food. What luxury food items do you snatch first? The champagne? The caviar? Smoked Salmon? Truffles? Chocolate? Or something else?  I would grab the Malibu, red orange juice, banana juice, raspberries, smoked salmon, triscuits and Easy Cheese!

The Rules…
“Answer each of the five questions. Tag five bloggers you would like to pass the meme to. Have them link back to you and to this post as the source meme. You and they can take the graphic from here if they like.”
