Front Porch Cocktails

Scott and I got back yesterday from visiting our friends Larry and Emilie (and their two great kids – Lawrence and Kate) in Sneads Ferry!  We had a great time.  Larry and Emilie were two of our favorite people in Sneads Ferry so when they invited us to come spend a couple of days with them during our break in the US we gladly accepted.

The best thing about Larry and Emilie is that they are chill.  No muss, no fuss, just chill.  We love it.  We sat around and drank beers, and wine.  We ate seafood, salsa and key lime pie and just caught up on life.  It was great.

When we get back to the states we hope to settle down in Sneads Ferry very near Larry and Emilie so that we can enjoy many more front porch cocktails!

Of course, I do have a couple of pics, but as usual, they are stuck in stupid camera, probably never to be seen again!  Didn’t I say I was buying a new camera?

What to do?

Posted in Journal tagged , , , at 9:37 pm by Jenn

I spent the day today surfing the internet trying to decide what to do on our vacation.  Scott will ski…I don’t ski.  I know that I am going to go to the yarn shop one day, but I have 4 other days to fill.  One day will obviously be to the top of the Zugspitze, because it’s so amazing up there.  One day Scott wants to do the cheese factory tour and then visit the Monks for some of their homemade beer.  That still leaves two days.  The resort has several tours offered each day but I don’t know if I’m interested in doing any of them.  I don’t want to see the concentration camp.  I really don’t need to be any more depressed.  With that crossed off that leaves the Deutches Museum, Linderhoff Palace or the Innsbruckand Crystal World.  I’m leaning maybe toward the Innsbruck tour because of the crystal factor, although the Linderhoff tour has a stop in Oberammergau for woodcarvings…any suggestions?

I’m so confused!  LOL

On Vacation

Posted in Journal, Purls of Wisdom tagged , , , , at 10:02 pm by Jenn

We are heading out for vacation (well I’m going on vacation, Scott has to work) for a little over a week.  Think of me on the cog wheel train, going to the top of the Zugspitze and visiting the Neuschwanstein Castle (the Disney castle was modeled after this one).  I really hope to be able to make it over to Austria on this trip as well to do the Sound of Music Tour, but if not I’ve asked for a trip for my birthday (hey, he got a BOSE – that’s a fair deal).  After Scott’s conference we’ll be leaving the Garmisch, Germany area and heading to Munich!  I can’t wait to see and hear the Glockenspiel!  I also plan on making a mad YARN attack and have compiled my list of shops!  Look out Germany, hear I come and I can ship for free from APO to APO.  Gotta love the Military Postal System!
